Santa Cruise Guide is a simple to use guide for locating cruises that are leaving from West Coast ports.  These  Cruise adventures are quick and easy for folks living in Santa Cruz County and local areas to find and book.  Some of the easier cruises that we can book quickly are for cruises leaving from San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and also San Diego and Los Angeles.

Many of the cruises leaving from the Port of Seattle, Port of Vancouver and the Port of San Francisco will be traveling to the North and Alaska.  Alaska cruises are a really big deal now a days and we were able to experience an Alaska cruise a couple summers ago.  It was really much more than I expected.

The majority of the cruises leaving from the Port of Los Angeles and the San Pedro Piers and the Port of San Diego will probably be heading South to the Mexican Riviera or even much further south including South America and/or going through the Panama Canal on there way to the Caribbean and usually ports and destinations in Florida, like Port of Miami or Ft. Lauderdale.

The world of cruising is upon us and the statistics show that it is really a growth industry. More and more new cruise passengers are signing up each year and even with the current economic climate, the cruise ships are selling out.  Although, now is one of the best times I have seen for finding a good cheap cruise.  We have taken a European cruise already this year and are watching for another good cheap cruise.

The cruise lines that will be servicing the west coast ports will include Carnival Cruises, Holland America Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean Cruises or RCCL, Norwegian Cruise Lines or NCL, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea Cruises, Princess Cruises, Crystal Cruise Lines, Regent Seven Seas Cruise Line, P&O Cruises, Fred Olsen Cruise Line, Cruise West and a few others.

Some of the tricks to finding a good cruise deal or cruise special has to do with signing up with some of the websites that offer cruises and let them email you when prices have dropped or discounts have occurred.  Some of the sailings this year have been discounted up to 75% or more to fill last minute sailings.  Not all the cruise lines or sailings will offer those high of discounts, but, several are offering up to 65% as this is being written.

Being flexible in your travel will also help.  Let's say you want to get a way in August or September, does it matter if you go to Alaska or Mexico.  If you want to find the best cruise discounts, look for both destinations and then find the price and itinerary that can work for you.  If you have real ridged travel ideas, you may as well book what you want, when you want and pay the price.  I prefer to save as much money as I can when taking a cruise holiday.

More and more people are taking cruises and finding out the advantages of being on a cruise ship while on holiday.  The pros of taking a cruise far out way any cons of cruising.  Depending on the cruise line you take, will dictate if it is all-inclusive or not.  If you  take a Carnival or Holland America cruise, expect to pay for on board extras like bottle water, colas, alcohol, wine etc.  When sailing on Silversea or Seabourn, expect everything to be included including gratuities and alcohol and wine.  Premium wines will be extra even on the luxury lines.

Living in Santa Cruz has many advantages and one of them is the access to San Francisco.  The City of San Francisco has so much great things you could talk about, but, here I am only talking about leaving San Francisco on a cruise ship.  The other great part of living in Santa Cruz is the 35 minute ride to San Jose Airport where you can then fly to any of the other West Coast ports to catch a cruise ship going in most any direction.  Considering that I love to cruise, this has been very rewarding living in the Santa Cruz area.  If we want to take a cruise to Alaska, Mexico, Panama Canal, South America, Hawaii, Asia or even around the world cruise, we can do it all from our West Coast ports of call.

So, this site will show you what cruise lines are leaving from what ports on the West Coast.  It will also give you some quick facts and information about the ports of embarkation.  And finally, we will share with you some of the cruise deals and cruise specials that we have been finding online lately.  If you have never cruised, think about your first.  If you are like me and cruise often, then book your next one.
